i dont have a habit sending demos to labels...really...rarely i send something sometimes maybe...i just enjoy doing what i do thats all...dont really pressure myself releasing

yeah i undestand your point of view that labels filter music and i think its good thing but you can also say same thing artists

Also I think its worth mentioning alot of labels aren't looking for demo's. They are just a vehicle for the said artist to release their own music and stuff they like.

then probably the next step for every producer is to start his own label and release his own tunes and some friends also.

maybe we gonna solve all the issues in this way,jundging by the increasing number of labels?

Nope, crap stays crap. If you start a label your tunes stay shit and your reputation gets even worse imo.

Definitely a good set of rules to abide by. I first sent tunes out a year ago, didnt hear anything back so figured that I wasnt up to scratch (its hard to be objective when you are just starting out and only have your friends to judge your music). Have just started sending out tunes again (abiding by the same rules) so hopefully those first few a year ago didnt taint my chances!

something to note though; I've always asked if its ok to send tunes via AIM as some people cant accept AIM transfers at work, or during certain times of day/night, etc. Soundcloud is also a good place to use as you can tell when someone has listened to your track or not and you know that if they have listened to it and not msgd you, they are not interested and you can move on. You dont even need to msg them to ask about it.

Best piece of advice I've been given;

Labels will listen to the first 3 secs of a track to tell if its well produced (you CAN tell), then skip to about halfway through and listen to it once its got going, then skip back to the first drop and see how well it breaks/builds/drops and if they have gotten that far already, its possible they may be interested in listening to the whole track.

Before even sending out a track: A/B compare with a similar style track. you can hear if your track is going to stand up next to it in a mix. If not, its not ready to be sent.

Thanks to those who put up with my old demos a year ago :wink: the advice given here is definitely worth listening to.
