how about you stop telling us how to run them. that has to be the sillyest thing i've read on here for a while.... this thread is supposed to help up and coming producers and increase their chances of their stuff getting heard. even if this was a joke (which i hope) its of poor taste, or you dont realise how much music we get sent.

I think you dont have in mind that the most annoying thins is when producers ask 10 times a day if the label guys listended to their stuff.
Imo if stuff is good, the label contacts the artist. I dont think the majority of the label headz are just too arrogant to reply to the messages, imo they are nerved by the overuse of asking further questions. If artists just ask one time or two it is probably the best way to get an answer.
But I can get your point that it is not cool sometimes to get no anwer of the labels at all. But I think that there is many many stuff which is sent to the labels and is just an overflow of tunes and above all crap. :~||

Furthermore, how about if you don't want someone having an opposite oppinion to you, or if you are delicate about a subject then don't put it in the public domain where people can have an oppinion on it.

Or do you really think that this will stem the flow of badly made badly mastered demos coming your way from the 20 or so regulars on here? Hmmn. Maybe it will stop mine.
All I hear on this forum is negativity about everyone else in the general public and how hard it is for you poor record label execs.
If you don't like my oppinion, tough... I don't really care... I am an oppinionated mother fucker at the best of times and shall probably always be.
However if you don't want someone having an oppinion on the subject contrary to yours then perhaps you can all have a good old moan about the general state of affairs in the moderators private forum?
You say that this thread was supposed to be there to give help and advice to people sending demos, yet all I see is a few pages of bitching and piss taking. Oh and a bit of back slapping.
I mean there is even someone winging about people being polite and trying to introduce themselves before they send a demo over aim!!! To quote you "That has to be the sillyest thing i've read on here for a while...."

Ok fair enough you don't always have the time to reply, but if that is the case then don't, but what is the point of fucking moaning about someone actually having some manners?
TBH if you intended this thread to be of some use or encouragement then you failed dismally.

Also, although I actually think this thread is one big self indulgent joke my earlier post was intended as a joke I don't happen to talk like Snoop Dog I was just taking the piss.

I for one find this thread quite helpful. This thread delivers a realistic and practical insight into the world of label owners and A&Rs, and people who I as an artist would potentially send music to. You might not like their views, or way some people deal with receiving demos, or people drowning puppies for that matter, but that's just the way it is.

What is wrong with letting people know what gives a budding producer the best chances of being heard and respected by those you send your tunes to?

Hey just cause i moderate this place doesnt mean I'm not entitled to an opinion. Especially when it concerns my livelihood. Its not like I loose any sleep over people on the internet telling me how to run my labels... It's the producers coming to us not the other way around. There are limits to what is practical, hence why you as a demo submitting artist dont get to tell me how i conduct my business... simple. Its not like I'm stopping you from posting, but I am gonna express my opinion when i see something like that though.

We are NOT being unreasonable, and the flow of demos doesnt suggest otherwise. What we're instructing people to do in this thread is pretty fucking simple actually. Why not be more effective about it? THINK about it... we spend a lot of time being hit up online, why on earth should we want to deal with people who cant follow simple guidelines or dont know how to be polite? Especially when they're not that experienced. And please note that this pretty much only happens with inexperienced producers, the ones who are confident in their own abilities and settle in the scene get on with us just fine.

Sure its frustrating not getting a reply, but its only frustrating because you didnt manage to make an impact. Labels are not public feedback services, they're in the business of releasing music. It can be very very time consuming to offer useful feedback with just text, and so naturally we're only going to do it when we see potential. If you take things like that personally then this business isnt for you.

WTF you talking about? For a start off the thing that fucked me off about this thread is the fact that some people were moaning about people actually being polite, and just bitching in general about n00bs as you lot like to call people. I find a lot of this attitude quite patronising towards younger less experienced people. As I stated before and you said in your previous post... ITS YOUR JOB. So therfore do it. The original post is fine and actually useful, serves a purpose whether I agree entirely or not. Also, I couldnt give a toss if someone gives me feedback or not that isnt why I send demos, although I know you like to give your two pennies worth, I send a demo on the off chance that a label will be interested in it.
As far as I am concerned this is tired now. So lets just agree to dissagree. You lot can all be magi to the masses.
